UMCOR Health Kits
UMCOR Health Kits for 2017 Annual Conference – The United Methodist Women of Saint Paul are beginning to collect materials for UMCOR health kits that will be taken to the 2017 Virginia UM Conference. They will be emphasizing one item each month.
In January they will be collecting hand towels (any color), 15” X 25" to 17" X 27”.
In February they will be collecting nail clippers and metal nail files.
Please place your donated items in the designated box located in the front hallway of the church. Also, be mindful that an entire kit can be purchased for a donation of $12.00 to the United Methodist Women. Thanks in advance to everyone for helping reach the goal of at least 200 kits.
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) - UMCOR is a ministry of The United Methodist Church through our General Board of Global Ministries. Its goal is to assist the most vulnerable persons affected by crisis or chronic need without regard to their race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. UMCOR’s work reaches people in more than 80 countries, including the United States, by providing humanitarian relief when war, conflict, or natural disaster disrupt life to such an extent that communities are unable to recover on their own.
While UMCOR cooperates with other aid organizations to extend our United Methodist reach, its most important partners are the people in need. UMCOR believes that successful solutions to emergency or chronic conditions begin with the affected population. UMCOR provides these survivors not only temporary relief but long-term education, training, and support.
UMCOR spends 100 percent of designated donations on the projects our donors specify. When UMCOR donors give their time, money, and supplies, they join UMCOR as the hands and feet of Christ. (paraphrased from UMCOR.org)
